It was exciting to get out and do my first official recce after announcing my LMW aspirations. This recce was of the opening sections and was a joy to run. From the start point at Loweswater I ran along the shores of Crummock Water to Buttermere and then up Red Pike. It was then down to Ennerdale Water. The route here would then go over to Wasdale but I looped back to Loweswater.
The rest of the route has a lot to live up to as this certainly is a beautiful start! Navigationally this bit is all straightforward and simple. It was as much a training run as it was a recce.
